Organ Crawl
April 21, 2017
April 21, 2017 – Organ Crawl with the Wisconsin Organ Historical Society
On Friday, April 21st ALMA-NPM is pleased to be hosting an organ crawl in conjunction with the Organ Historical Society (OHS) featuring several historic organs and churches in the Milwaukee Archdiocese. Throughout the day we will have the opportunity to hear and play no fewer than seven organs at six sites! – including St. Anthony (Milwaukee), St. Joseph’s Convent Chapel, St. Hedwig, St. Casimir, Ss. Peter and Paul, and St. Francis of Assisi.
At each of the sites there will be a demonstration on the organ followed by a hands-on opportunity for those who wish to play the instrument themselves. The OHS will also provide detailed background information about these historic organs. This will be a wonderful opportunity to experience part of the musical legacy of the Milwaukee Archdiocese and to meet fellow organists and church musicians alike.
The cost to participate is only $5 for ALMA members and $10 for non-members. Attached is a copy of the OHS newsletter with more details on the itinerary. If you plan to attend please RSVP to Matt Lawrenz atmlawrenz@stgregsmil.org.
